A partir de hoje, 20 de outubro/2010,nosso Blog publica uma série de postagens exibindo a relação dos melhores filmes de todos os tempos, por categoria - segundo o jornal "The Guardian", edição de 16 de outubro/2010. Para o periódico o melhor de todos os filmes em todos os tempos é APOCALIPSE NOW de Francis Ford Coppola.

"The Guardian" é um jornal britânico cuja circulação acontece de segunda a sábado. Até 1959 era intitulado "The Manchester Guardian" mas, nos Estados Unidos, muitos leitores ainda o chamam assim.

O brasileiro "Cidade de Deus", "City of God" (Fernando Meireles)aparece em 6º lugar no grupo dos melhores filmes de ação de todos os tempos.

Greatest films of all time: Apocalypse Now


The Guardian/Observer greatest films of all time are being unveiled all this week and you can follow the whole lot here.

Each day, our top 25 movies will be released, and each day here on the Datablog we will add them to our and the sortable table below.
Today is the action 25. We're led by Francis Coppola's Apocalypse Now. What films would you add to the list? Here's what Peter Bradshaw says today:

In some ways, it should be the quintessential cinema genre. After all, what does the director shout at the beginning of a take? Action – at times a euphemism for violence and machismo – evolved into a recognisable genre in the 80s when the war movie, whose enduring strength fed the appetite for action pictures, had stirring British examples such as In Which We Serve.
